About Us

St. Joseph’s AFC was formed in September 2000 and since then has made great strides in Carlow underage and senior soccer.
From humble beginnings, the club had 9 teams by the start of the 2003-2004 season.
In the current season 2011/2012 we cater for 10 juvenile teams from U8 up to and including U16 boys and girls.
We are currently the only soccer club in County Carlow facilitating an Under 16 girl’s team. The U16 Girl’s team is currently playing in the U16 girl’s league in the Kilkenny & District Soccer League.    We also cater for a youth’s team, senior men’s team, senior women’s team and an over 35’s team.
We have currently 250 members of which 56 are female.  All are registered with the club and very effort is made to ensure all adhere to the FAI code of ethics.
Each year, the club organises a wide range of fundraising events including teenage discos, quiz nights, raffles and draws. We are holding a Family Fun Day on May 20th 2012 down at the soccer pitch.
There is now a lot of talent emerging throughout the club which ensures a great future for the club. One of our U16 girls, Lauren Dwyer is currently on the panel of the U16 girls Irish team. We also have several players from our U12 and U13 teams on the Carlow Academy Squads.
