U16 Girls in Cup Final Saturday 28th March

Our u16 girls are playing this Saturday V Baltinglass at Parkvilles pitch Tullow in their Cup Final. KO 2pm. It would be great if you could come along and support them. This is the 1st year for this team to play together and it’s a great achievement to see them reach the final. Best of luck to all involved.

U 11 classic cup game goes to penalties

This Joeys U 11 team lost to New Oak in a penalty shoot out and now go into the shield. The game started badly with New oak coming out of the blocks quickly and attacked Joeys. Joeys were out of sorts for the first half ,with loose passes, poor tackling and overall playing badly. They went in one nil down. Some words at half time – pride, not the normal Joeys performance we expect to see, determination etc and sent them back out. It still took easily 10 min before they started to play better soccer and pulled the goal back. From then on they started to put pressure on New Oak but could not force through for a winner.
Extra time and still no winners from any team. But before the penalties ,I have to say again the team did us proud by the way they responded and improved in the second half.
With the penalties it is a terrible way to go out ,but its the rules. Again the character of the team showed when we asked for volunteers , hands shot right up with no reservations, proud of them.
The end result was we lost out on penalties ,but onwards and upwards we face St Fiaccs in the shield and a chance to finish on a high.

U9s host Fiaccs and Nurney

A good game between two excellent sides. St josephs were two one up at half time with a great goal from Aaron Cotter and an excellent lang range strike from George Cassidy. At Fiaccs played great football with the wind in the second half and scored 4 good goals without reply. Best for st Joseph’s were Daniel Dolan Roisin Kennedy, Ben Cioladis, Lorcan Kelly , Sean Breen Katie Bowe and Ewan Breen. Joe Bermingham was excellent in goals for St Josephs

St Joseph’s Reds V Nurney
St Joseph’s were very unlucky in this game not to score, in the
first half Joey’s spent the majority of their time defending
leaving the score 1-0 down at half time. They started the second
half better and pushed hard to equalise. However Nurney scored 3 more goals to leave the score 0-4 . The scoreline does not reflect the
team effort Joey’s put in. Best for St Joseph’s were Conall
McGuire, Robbie Fitzgerald & Maeve O’Neill.

U13’s St Joseph’s..3 Nurney Villa..2

This was a very entertaining game of two halves which saw Nurney
Villa start the better and having more of the ball in the first
half, but the home team defended well at times. It was Nurney
Villa who scored first with 20mins gone ,Nurney went in at half
time leading one nill H/T 0..1.They second half started with St
Joseph’s taking control and soon the home side were putting on
alot of presure and were rewarded when Arnas Karalius scored 10
mins into the second half to draw the teams level.St Joseph’s
continued to push forward and took the lead when Kian Dooley
scored an long range effort and they soon scored again when
James Hayden scored with an back post header to make it 3..1.
Nurney Villa tried hard to get back into the game and scored in
the last min to make it 3..2 and thats the way the game finished
it was a really good win for the home team F/T 3..2.
Goalscorers: Arnas Karalius, Kian Dooley, James Hayden.
Best Players: Daniel Hegarty, Jack Coe, Cian Nichol.
