U9’s Red get the best of Hanover

This was a very entertaining game with St Joseph’s starting the
game well with a goal from Maeve O’Neill in the first 10 minutes.
Jack Walton also found the back of the net to score to leave St Joseph’s in the lead 2-0 at half time.
Hanover Harps tested the St Joseph’s defence on many occasions at the start of the second hand and their persistence finally paid off
to score a goal. St Joseph’s
added another goal from Jack Walton to bring the score 3-1. Hanover came back strong and scored to bring
the score 3-2. A great performance from St Joseph’s Red today
showing great defensive work when needed.
Best for St Joseph’s Bobby Doyle, Sean Murphy, Cathal Brennan &
Robbie Fitzgerald. Scorers for St Joseph’s Maeve O’Neill & Jack
Walton (2).

St Joseph’s Best Players : All round great team performance

The scoreline does not tell the full story St Joseph’s Players with their hearts and put everything into the game to keep Bagenalstown out but they tried. Well done Guys and Girls.

U13’s Parkville Red 1 – St Joseph’s 7

A really good performance by St Joseph’s today and could have score more than the 7 goals they got today, the goals were scored by Arnas Karalius (3), Kian Dooley,Cian Nichol, Aongus O Se ,and Luke Rice scored the goals .The best players ¬†were Jack Coe, Jordan O Brien, Dylan O Donnell ,on a good day for St Joseph’s U13s.

U14’s put it up to potential league winners

St Joseph’s hosted Nurney at home this morning. ¬†Nurney settled down quickly and opened the scoring within the first few minutes. Joeys got back into the game and played some lovely football putting the Nurney defence under pressure. This soon paid off when Ryan Cotter scored a cracking header to level the game. The first half was a well balanced game but Nurney broke just before the whistle to go 2-1 up at the break. A similar second half saw Joeys add another to their tally when Cormac O’Brien converted and with Nurney adding another two. Joeys were unlucky not to level the game with chances by Evan McGuire, Daniel Giedraitis, Ted Brophy and Paddy Regan. A great team performance by the whole team including Cian Shannon, Jack O’Shea, Rory Guerin and Daniel Nolan.

St Josephs U11’s March On

On a narrow pitch set up by up New Oak ,this game was always going to be hard with very little space to move in. This proved the case as both teams found it hard to move the ball. The first break through was by Franeick who slotted the ball into the corner of the goal from a cross from Conor. After that it was end to end soccer played by both teams ,New Oak came close but the fantastic Josh in goal was in form and during the game pulled off some lovely saves. Joeys went 2 up when Franeick laid off the ball for Conor to score. Then New Oak pulled one back before Conor nearly broke the goal with a rocket of a shoot. Again New Oak fought back and scored to make it 3-2 at H.T.
Even though they were winning the coaches didn’t think they were playing great and pointed out a few areas to work on in the second half. The second half they were a lot better in most areas and contained New Oak to just one shot on target in the second half. Joeys then scored the crucial next goal . When from a throw in the ball made its way towards goal where Alan slotted in with his left foot. 4-2 . Word has to go to the back 4 of Luke ,Kate, Mark and Cian who again had a very good game and have developed a very good understanding with each other. The ever strong mid field of Conor ,Ruairi, Fiac and Alan controlled the game and kept the game flowing nicely. Up front Eoin and Franeick kept the New Oak backs busy. Josh deserves special mention for an outstanding performance in goal today.

Double win for U9’s

U9’s Red
St Joseph’s started this game really well and tested the
Parkville defence on many occasions, but at half time the score
was 0-0. At the start of the second half Sean Murphy was the
first for St Joseph’s to score, Bobby Doyle & Tomas Murphy also
added to the tally to leave St Joseph’s in the lead 3 -0.
Jack Walton was next to score for St Joseph’s & after a goal mouth scramble Conall McGuire added another goal. Lastly, Matthew Brennan slotted home the last to leave the score 6-0 at
the full whistle. Great credit to all the team who played another great game for St Joseph’s.

U9’s Green
Best performance of the season from St Joseph’s
All players played brilliant. Lorcan Kelly scored an excellent hat-trick
George Cassidy got 2 and one each from Aidan Ryan and Sean Breen
Aidan Ryan gave an outstanding performance. Daniel Dolan , Aaron Cotter, Saoirse o Sullivan, Katie Bowe and joe Bermingham had all excellent games.

U11’s St Joseph’s 2 Burrin Celtic 0

Joeys on a good run
Again a very solid performance by Joeys U 11. With both teams having 4-5 subs, the teams set up was going to change a lot during the game . Joeys started brightly and took the lead after 2 mins when Alan got a good ball into the box where Conor finished nicely. There were a few half chances for Joeys but nothing came of them. 1 Nil at HT.
Second half was more or less the same with Joeys goalie Josh having very little to do, in fairness the back line were playing very well for Joeys. Joeys were under no pressure with the team playing well when the most unusual goal of the year was scored by Joeys. With a corner for Joeys there was a bit of movement in the box where the Celtic players left the near post free. Conor took the corner and it made its way along the line where everyone thought it went out. But it stayed in and trickled into the near post with everyone looking at it. 2 nil . I don’t think we will score a goal like it again.
Joeys stayed strong till the end and went home happy. Overall a good game with everyone playing well together .There was some lovely link up play been played  which was lovely to see. Well done everyone.
