Frustrating Day for St. Joseph’s U11s.

This time last year the match was cancelled due to rain ,but this year the sun was shining .Both teams started brightly and created some lovely soccer .Killeshin were the more physical and won a lot of balls off the St Josephs team which put them under a lot of pressure for periods of the game .Half time 0-0.Second half St Josephs gained the upper hand by using the wings a bit better and created a lot of half chances but came up against an in form keeper who kept them in the game.

U11 Hanover Harps -1 V St Josephs – 3

Tough start to the season for the U 11 team, away to Hanover .

Both teams started brightly and played some lovely soccer to keep the game flowing nicely from end to end . We created some nice passes into the box which led to a corner .Jack stepped up and delivered a lovely ball onto the head of Conor who put it into the top corner to score our first ever goal from a header .Hanover came back and equalised quickly but again we took the lead just before half time to go in 2-1 up.

Praise must go to all players as there was a lot of changes with positions etc but everyone took up the challenge and played out of their skin as a team .
In the second half Josh pulled off a lovely save to keep us ahead .We then extended the lead  to 3-1 with another goal from Conor .The last 10 minutes got a bit scrappy  but St Josephs kept their composure to still play some nice soccer and roll out winners .
Overall a very good TEAM performance .Well done.
