Best Wishes to Fr Liam in his new parish

It is Fr Liam’s last mass this coming Sunday before he moves to Naas. As a Club we would like to mark this occasion by asking all our members to attend 10am mass in Tinryland to show our appreciation for his support to St Joseph’s over the last number of years. If you have your own Jersey please wear.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish Fr Liam all the best in his new Parish.

Thanks.

St Joseph’s Committee.

U11’s start season in Newbridge

IMGP7392
U 11 Newbridge Tournament
Our U 11 team started the season early this year with a tournament in Newbridge over the weekend . In a group with Evergreen, Newbridge and Kilcullen .They started badly losing to a strong Evergreen team but then won the next and went in to the last needing to draw to progress to the cup side of the tournament .They achieved this by staging a strong comeback in the second half  to draw the game .This meant they finished second in the group for the first time. They went into the quarter finals against another strong team Aishling  Annacotty from Limerick . We started badly and gave them a chance by letting in 3 goals in 2 mins, after that we settled down and created a few chances before the half time break .
Then the team changed by going on the attack with 2-4-2 formation . Pride was restored in that second half when everyone played out of their skin and totally dominated the half and only gave the opposition  one shot at goal in the second half .Where as we created loads of chances and scored one .We lost the game but they showed great character , drive and ability to do what they did in the second half .To get that far against teams who are training all during the summer is a great achievement .Prospect for the upcoming season – Good. Well done all involved.
