In very tough conditions both teams put on an very entertaining
match.It was Vale who started well and took the lead after 7
mins. St Joseph’s started to get to grips with the Vale midfield
and when Cormac McEillgott broke into the Vale box he was fouled
resulting in Kian Dooley scoring to draw the game level after 20
 mins H/T  1..1. In the second half Vale tried to push forward
but St Joseph’s were catching them on the break and took the
lead when Daniel Donegan scored to make it 2..1. Vale continued
to push forward but were caught again in the last 5 mins when
Cormac McEillgott scored F/T  3..1.

DIV 3 St Josephs 4 – 1 Grange

It was the home side that took the lead 20minutes into the first half when St. Josephs Gary Scully scored with a header into the back of the net following good play from Ian Scully on the left wing.
20 minutes later it was 2 – 0 to St. Josephs when John Paul Moore played a through ball to Dean Farrell who scored with a sweet right foot. Grange stepped up the pressure on the home side after this and were close on a number of occasions with shots going narrowly wide. Half time score St. Josephs 2 Grange 0.
The second half started slowly with no real threat on either keeper before Grange on the 55th minute scored following poor defenceive play by St . Joseph’s.
Man of the match Darren Murphy in the goal for the home side kept Grange at bay and it wasn’t long before Gary Fields and Barry Costello scored for St. Joseph’s to keep St. Joseph’s in contention in the Div 3 league.
Final Score St. Joseph’s 4  Grange 1.

U12 St Josephs 2 – 2 Slaney Rovers

This was a very tough match with both teams well matched. Slaney Rovers took the lead after 5 mins. But St Joseph’s responded  very quickly when they drew level after 6 mins. The rest of the the first half was end to end. But no more goals came H-T 1-1. The Second half started much the same,with the game being end to end. It was St Joseph’s who took the lead when Daniel Donegan  scored 10 mins into the second half. But Slaney Rovers drew  level 15 mins into the second half.There was still time for both teams to have chances to win the game. But it wasn’t to be and  the game ended 2-2. F-T 2-2.

U11 St Josephs 2-1 Slaney Rovers

In wet and cold conditions this game was end to end. St Joseph’s battled and were awarded a goal through Matthew Gleeson. St  Joseph’s Goalkeeper James Hayden pulled off some great saves  just before half time H-T 1-0. St Joseph’s tipped off but it was  Slaney Rovers who levelled the scoreline 1-1.  St Joseph’s didn’t  give up and even though they were wet and cold,ten mins from the  end Padraic Kelly scored to make it 2-1 St Joseph’s. St Joseph’s  backline kept Slaney Rovers out and the fulltime whistle blew. F-T 2-1.
