Down in the Presentation St Josephs sealed a good win against a strong Hanover team with 2 goals from Conor Carew and one from Jack Dunne.Hanover started well and hunted the ball in packs ,Joeys tried hard but were finding it hard to get a grip on the game .Conor had a great run and finished up putting the ball into the goal .Half time we lead by one.
Second half was the same as the first with Joeys finding it hard before they started passing it better with the second goal coming from a pass from the right wing and Conor finishing from close range .Hanover got one back shortly after to make it 2-1 .From then on it was good defending from Joeys that kept them in the game before Alan Bohanna crossed for Jack Dunne to scored the third .The toughest game of the season so far.
Best for St Josephs was Alan Bohanna,Ruairi Scully,Josh Donegan and Cian McGuire
U15 Hanover Harps 8 – 2 Vale/St Joseph’s
U14 St Pats Red. 2 – 9 St Joseph’s

U10 Hanover Harps 1 – 3 St Joseph’s
U8 Hanover Harps 3 – 3 St Joseph’s
St Joseph’s U13’s played away to Vale and started the better of the two teams. Joey’s failed to capitalise and didn’t create any chances from having most of the possession in the first 10 minutes. A goal against the run of play settled Vale who went on to score two more before the break. A below par Joey’s team never got back into the game and an on form Vale team took all their chances to leave the final score 7 – 0. Best for St Joseph’s was Jack Murphy, Cormac O’Brien, Sinead Hayden and Ciaran O’Hagan.

It was the home side that took the lead 5 minutes into the first half when St. Josephs Glen Doyle played a long ball over the top from defence to Barry Costello who on the run struck a sweet left shot from 30 yards out into the back of the net.
20 minutes later it was 2 – 0 to St. Josephs when Stephen Sullivan reacted quickly to a great save from the Hacketstown goalkeeper to tap in goal number 2 close to the goal line. Hacketstown stepped up the pressure on the home side after this and were close on a number of occasions with shots going narrowly wide. Hacketstown controlled the remainder of the half before the man in the middle Christy O’Rourke blew for half time. Half time score St. Josephs 2 Hacketstown 0.
The second half started slowly with no real threat on either keeper before St. Josephs David Townsend on the 55 minute was taken down inside the box and a penalty was awarded. Up stepped St. Josephs top scorer Barry Costello to strike home St. Josephs third goal of the game. Hacketstown then pushed to get a goal after this and there efforts were awarded with a free kick just outside the St. Josephs box. No.10 for Hacketstown struck what was surely to be Hacketstown first score of the day but for the sharp reactions of St. Josephs number 1 Darren Murphy to tap it over the bar. Both player were applauded for there efforts from the large attendance at St. Josephs Park.
With 20 minutes remaining gaps started to appear in the Hacketstown defence as they pushed to get an opening score and it wasn’t long before St. Josephs David Townsend scored to delightful goals in the 75 minute and 85 minute following good play from John Paul Moore and Padraig Delaney to leave the final score St. Josephs 5 Hacketstown 0.
Those that played well for the winners were Darren Murphy, Brian Byrne, Danny Moran, David Townsend and Barry Costello.
In what was an very exciting match the first exchanges were very
even until the 10 min mark when Cormac McElligott put a great
pass to Patrick Regan who in turn put Daniel Donnegan through with a great pass to score when he chipped the advancing keeper to score
and put St Joseph’s one up. Bagenalstown to their credit pushed
forward looking to come back and were awarded an penalty which
they scored from to make the score 1..1 after 15mins. The game
was end to end after this and St Joseph’s were awarded an penalty
of their own which Cormac McElligott scored after 20mins this is
how the first half finished H/T 1..1.The second half was the same as the first with alot of play in midfield. As the second half went
on the game became end to end with chances at both ends, but there was no more goals and it was St Joseph’s who took full points with an
