Presentation Night & AGM Friday 14th June

St. Josephs AFC will hold their Juvenile, Senior awards night and AGM on Friday 14th June at 7.30pm in Tinryland GAA Club House followed by a social night for all members.  We would like to take this opportunity to invite all parents to attend this meeting.  There are plenty of ways you can help during the year without taking a role on the committee.  Parents are encouraged to get involved as it requires a community effort to cater for approx 200 children and 100 Adult Players. In particular new people are most welcome to contribute and become part of the executive committee.  The Club needs volunteers to help with the ongoing running and future development of the club.  Nomination Forms are available to download here CommitteeNominationForms2013-2014 and can be submitted prior to the AGM by Wednesday 12th June to any of the current committee members.

U13s tragically denied in penalty shootout

After the U15s were denied in a penalty shootout last week  lightning couldnt strike twice , could it ??  …………….
This was a very hard cup match played in lovely conditions. It was end to end football with both teams competing strongly for the ball. A lovely break through mid-field saw Kostya Cahill  taken down in the box and Harry Taylor put away the resulting penalty to leave Joeys 1-0 up at the break. St Pats hit back in the second half and scored two goals but St Josephs scored  a lovely goal through Thomas Sheehan which left it 2-2 at full time. Extra time saw both teams trying to get the winner but it was Pats who scored first . Joeys then threw everything at Pats and got the equaliser through a great effort from Dinny Farrell to bring us into penalties.St Pats came out on top of the shoot-out 5-3 to win the game. This was a great effort from all the St Josephs players who could give no more.
This is a very hard way to lose a match which ends our season .
Under 13 Cup St Pats 3 v St Josephs 3 (Pat ‘s won on penalties)
Denis ,Michael and Derek would like to congratulate all the players for the time and effort they put in
from last September through to today . They are a great bunch of lads and we have enjoyed alot of great days with them. We would also like to thank the parents who get the lads to training and matches on time , provide oranges and wash jerseys , these things are all very much appreciated .
We wish you all a very pleasant and warm summer.
